Sarfojiraje Bhosale B. N. T. & R. Centre is a premier NGO for the preservation, promotion and propagation of Indian classical dance through cultural-pedagogical-social training and dissemination through performance and research. Established in 1993 by renowned Performing Academician, Bharatanatyam Exponent and Sanskrit Scholar SNA Awardee Dr. SANDHYA PURECHA, with a vision of
- Delivering the rich classical tradition to the young generations in the Guru Shishya Parampara
- Reviving and reconstructing the body language based on the shastra (theory) and applying it tothe sampradaya (praxis)
- Imparting holistic dance education and encouraging research-oriented performance literature, music, where young students learn Indian philosophy spirituality, mythology, yoga, aesthetics along with rigorous dance training and theory.
A one-of-its-kind dance centre, it is affiliated to the Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek, Nagpur established by the Government of Maharashtra and recognised by the UGC and AIU, New Delhi. It is also a member of the International Dance Council, UNESCO. The Repertory Group is empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt. of India and has received the Outstanding Grade by the Festival of India Cell, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
